Test of Intuitive Physics (TIP)In recent work (Mitko & Fischer, 2020; Mitko & Fischer, 2023; Mitko et al., in press), we have developed a battery of tasks that draw on intuitive physics abilities while varying in their visual content, relevant scene attributes, and task demands. Each task is fine-tuned to capture individual differences in performance, and we have found that a large portion of the variance in performance on all tasks can be captured by a single underlying factor related to general intuitive physics ability. The Test of Intuitive Physics (TIP) condenses the task battery to single 20 minute session with simple instructions that can be used to measure intuitive physics abilities in a variety of populations.
